State Administration Council (SAC) and Militia Joint Forces Conduct Offensive Operations in KIA Brigade 9 Territory, Hpakant Region

Early this morning, State Administration Council (SAC) troops launched an armed offensive into villages near Mazup Yang and Kade Maw in Hpakant Township, part of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) Brigade 9 territory, according to local sources.

The military columns reportedly advanced in two separate routes from Mawsi Zar village.

Additionally, clashes erupted yesterday (June 4) around 5 p.m. near Hepar village in Mohnyin Township, within KIA Battalion 26’s operational area, after junta forces initiated an offensive.

During the fighting in Hepar village, the SAC conducted an airstrike using a jet, damaging a civilian home. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

Locals are growing increasingly concerned as the SAC and militia joint forces continue to carry out large-scale offensives in KIA Brigade 9’s Hpakant region, raising fears of intensified clashes.
