In Kachin State, during the final week of May, the State Administration Council (SAC) carried out 42 bombings using Y-12 aircraft, 7 jet fighter strikes, 80 drone bombings, and over 290 artillery attacks on the Bhamo area and other regions, according to reports from the Kachin Independence Army (KIA).

Since early December of last year, the KIA coalition forces have been conducting offensives to retake Bhamo town, and fierce clashes have continued unabated for six months up to the present day.

Frontline sources report that the SAC has heavily deployed aircraft, drones, and fortified defensive positions in the Bhamo conflict, making it difficult for resistance forces to fully capture the area.

After six months of intense fighting for Bhamo, the KIA coalition has seized most of the small outposts under the military’s Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 21, but battles are still ongoing to take control of the main LIB 21 base.

Although the military regime extended its nationwide ceasefire declaration until June 30, it continues to target schools in revolutionary-controlled territories with airstrikes. As a result, public education schools in these areas have been indefinitely closed for safety reasons.
