It has been reported that in some townships in Myanmar, anyone who will attend university will not be allowed to enroll unless they have an advance voting slip.

In the upcoming December 28 election, which the Military Commission will conduct as Part 1 of their election process, a total of 102 townships will be included.

Due to statements saying that university students will not be allowed to attend university if they do not vote in the election held by the military administrative body, and that students must show a voting slip in order to register for university, it is reported that students in some townships have already been casting their votes.

On November 21, the military council’s Election Commission announced that more than 28,000 university students across Myanmar had cast their advance votes.

The Election Commission also announced that the election organized by the military council will be conducted nationwide in three separate phases.
