Displaced families in Sumpyi Yang's camp, Putao region, are raising urgent concerns about dwindling supplies of food, medicine, and basic necessities with the monsoon season fast approaching.

"Most aid programs have been discontinued in recent months," explained a camp resident. "Earlier this year we received consistent support from humanitarian and faith-based organizations. Now that this assistance has largely disappeared, we're extremely concerned. When the rains come and cut off road access, our situation will become dire."

With the rainy season imminent, multiple challenges threaten to worsen the camp's already precarious conditions. Transportation difficulties due to flooded roads, ongoing military instability, and severe shortages of basic food and medical provisions are creating growing anxiety among residents. Parents particularly worry about their children's education as school supplies run dangerously low.

"We have no reserves prepared for the coming months," the resident continued. "Our community still desperately needs support from donors and aid groups for food, medical supplies, shelter materials, and children's educational resources."

Having lived in displacement for nearly a year, the Sumpyi Yang community remains heavily reliant on external assistance for survival. Approximately 2,000 displaced persons currently reside at Hpung Ngai Yang temporary camp, where many have resorted to small-scale farming of rice and other crops to supplement their meager resources.
