The battle to retake Bhamaw Town has lasted nearly seven months, with frontline sources saying that it is prolonged because the military is using a large amount of advanced equipment and weapons.
"Although Bhamaw has been relatively quiet recently, drones and large weapons continue to be fired. The drones they use are very advanced; they cannot be compared to ours. Sometimes drones appear and fire from places we cannot even see," said one frontline source.
The military council troops launched counterattacks to regain military camps they had lost, successfully recapturing some towns in July. The military is reportedly increasingly employing advanced equipment and technology in their attacks.
Currently, the military council forces are intensifying operations in the Hpakant area of Kachin State. They have opened new battlefronts in Bhamaw, Myitkyina, and Waimaw regions and are preparing to launch full-scale simultaneous attacks. It is also reported that military weapons are being transported via waterways and air routes.
