It has been reported that local residents are worried as the military council is going door to door collecting name lists of youths aged 18 and above in Nam Ya Village, located along the Hpakant road, where people who had fled due to fighting have now begun returning to their homes.

According to local residents, this collection of youth lists may be intended to identify the population of internally displaced persons who have returned to their places of origin, or it could be related to population registration as the election approaches.

Although residents remain concerned about the current military situation, most have returned to their homes. However, some are still finding it difficult to return due to homes being destroyed, damaged, or rendered uninhabitable as a result of the fighting.

After the military council approved a law mandating compulsory military service for all eligible youths across the country, it has not only begun arresting young people but has also been opening and conducting military training courses.
