The Residents Of Mawlu, Which Is Controlled By The PDF, Are Worried That The Clashes Will Break Out Again

Due to the fact that the military council joint forces have marched in column again to Mawlu, Inndaw Region, Sagaing Division, which is controlled by the PDF, and the locals are worried that the clashes will break out again.

“There are many PDFs in Mawlu, so the SAC hit with heavy artillery weapons very often and now we heard that the column was coming from the Mawlu, so we are very worried that there would be a clash. Last time many people were injured during the clashes,” said a resident from Mawlu.

The locals who went fishing at night said that, about 60 SAC forces from Indaw and 50 SAC soldiers from Nabar, a total of more than 100 troops, were found heading towards Pin Wei village at about 12:30 on the night of February 16th, so they were worried that a clash would break out.

“We looked for fish with electric fishing machines along the creek at night. At that time, we heard the sound of cars, so we turned off the light and watched. There were four cars full of soldiers. It’s been four days since we heard the news that Mawlu will be recaptured,” the residents continued.

In addition, according to local residents, the news that the SAC joint forces will attack and recapture Mawlu town has been spreading in the neighborhood for almost 5 days.

The police station in Mawlu, which was jointly deployed by military council troops and police, was attacked by the All Burma Students’ Democratic Front (ABSDF), Kachin Independence Army (KIA), KPDF and People’s Defense (PDF) joint forces launched a joint attack and took control of Mawlu town on the morning of December 13th of last year.
