The Students' Parents Are Not Happy With Various Fees Collected By The High School Of Myo Ma, Puta-O Township

Some of the students’ parents said that the teachers of MyoMa High School are collecting money from the students for various topics oftenly in Puta-O township, Kachin State.

One of the students' parent said, “In recent years, more money has been collected than usual. They collect money from the students like every week under the topics of teachers’ birthday, welcome party, farewell party, etc.

Usually, it is normal to collect money from the students every year during school events such as Homage Paying Ceremony to honor the teachers, school Christmas parties and annual events, but from this academic year, they collect money from the students almost every week.

Another parent said, “From KG class to Grade 12, all of the students are asked to bring money for various topics every month and every week. They collect at least 2000 kyats at one time.”

If they are collecting money every week, it might be difficult for the students who come to school from far away, dormitory students, students who are away from their parents and they may face financial difficulties.

A high school student also said that they only have to study for two to three hours a day, and they put the rest of schedules for sports.

Therefore, students’ parents said that they don’t like the education system that has less study time and more sports time and they also don’t like the education system that collects money from the students almost every week.

There are a total of (2070) students studying in MyoMa High School, Putao in the 2023-2024 academic year. There are only 60 teachers teaching at the school and the problem of insufficient teachers is also being faced every year.
