Sources close to Nan Si Aung Gate reported that three Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) staff were arrested yesterday, September 9, during a registration check using the PSMS system at the military council's Nan Si Awng Gate.
It is said that those arrested were two CDM staff and the husband of a female health worker. It is known that because registrations are being aggressively checked and verified at the Nan Si Aung Gate and the Myitkyina 21 Mile Gate in Kachin State, this is the second time individuals with criminal records have been arrested.
According to a police source, since May 25th of last year, the military council has been using the PSMS software to conduct registration checks and arrests. The Person Scrutinization and Monitoring System (PSMS) software is primarily used at every township and regional police station to check whether the public has a criminal record or is involved in politics. It has also been used in checks that require individuals to present a certificate of clear criminal record.
The BBC news reported that due to the PSMS (Person Scrutinization and Monitoring System), over 1,650 people have been arrested in Myanmar.
