Three Townships From Kachin State Included In Phase 2 Of Elections

The Election Commission has announced that Phase 2 of the elections will be held on January 11, 2026, and that three townships from Kachin State will be included in this phase.

According to the Election Commission’s announcement released yesterday, October 28, the three Kachin State townships included in Phase 2 of the elections are Mogaung, Waimaw, and Machangbaw.

In Phase 1 of the elections, which will be held on December 28, 2025, 102 townships across the country will take part, including six townships from Kachin State.

The six Kachin State townships participating in Phase 1 are Myitkyina, Tanai, Hpakant, Njangyang, Putao, and Mohnyin.

The Election Commission stated that the upcoming elections will be held in three phases with 102 townships in Phase 1, 100 townships in Phase 2, and 72 townships in Phase 3.
