Tightened Inspections at Military Allied Militia Checkpoint in Lawar Village

In Lawar Village along the Myitkyina-Tanai road, the Min Zay Thant Led Militia Force has set up a checkpoint and is conducting inspections, questioning, and investigations of civilians traveling along the road, according to sources.


It is reported that civilians are being stopped and searched, that their social media accounts are being checked, and that young women and girls are being spoken to and treated in a rude and inappropriate manner.


Similarly, in the Hugaung region, residents are fleeing due to fighting in areas such as Lapu Hka, Woi Law, and Pyar Swoi. It is also reported that the Militia groups and Shanni Militia are transporting and using local residents’ shop goods with cars, motorcycles, and three wheeled vehicles.


In addition, it is reported that joint Militia forces are paying drug users in gold mining areas and forcing them to transport civilians’ belongings.
