Clashes have once again broken out between KIA joint forces and military council troops in the Waimaw–Lamyang area, according to local sources.
Around 9 a.m. on November 24, military council troops advanced to launch an assault near the positions held by KIA joint forces, resulting in direct engagement between the two sides.
During the exchange, both sides fired heavy weapons, and one of the shells landed and exploded in Wu Yan village, injuring two civilians.
However, locals reported that the two injured civilians were not in serious condition and have already been transported to Myitkyina General Hospital for medical treatment.
Although KIA forces have not recently launched offensive attacks in the Lamyang area, frequent advances and offensives by military council troops continue, leading to repeated clashes. Military tension between the two sides also remains high.
