Two civilians were injured when a suicide drone fired by the junta from the Myitkyina side exploded inside Laiza town at around 11:55 p.m. on October 16, according to reports.

It was learned that two drones were launched from Myitkyina. One suicide drone fell and exploded on the outskirts of Laiza, while another landed and detonated at a shop inside the town.

As the drone hit the shop, the zinc roofing of nearby houses was damaged, and a Chinese couple guarding the shop sustained injuries from the blast impact.

On September 21, three suicide drones fired by the junta had also fallen and exploded near Laiza town.

Currently, clashes between resistance forces and junta troops continue to intensify daily across various areas. As the junta suffers increasing losses, it frequently launches indiscriminate airstrikes, drone attacks, and heavy artillery shelling on civilian areas where no active fighting occurs.
