Two Fatalities Occured In Woi Chyai Village Where They Were Hit By A Heavy Artillery Fired By The SAC

A heavy artillery fired by the SAC exploded and killed a woman and her niece, and a man was seriously injured near the gas station in the upper part of Woi Chyai Ward, near Laiza, the headquarters of Kachin Independence Organization (KIO/KIA).


The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) attacked the SAC military camp near the Laiza headquarters at around 5:30 this morning. At around 10 o’clock, the woman and her niece died on the spot due to the explosion of a heavy weapon fired by the SAC. A man passing by on a motorcycle was also hit and seriously injured.




A local resident of Laiza reported to Pajau at around 10 AM in the morning that, “Two jet fighters are flying near Laiza. But there is no bombing yet. We are fleeing to a safe place. A woman and her niece have died after being hit by the heavy weapon fired by the SAC,” he said.


It is reported that the KIA started an offensive in the vicinity of Khaya Bum, Bum Re Bum and Hpun Pyen Bum which are military bases of the SAC and the clashes are still fiercing.


In addition, some SAC military camps along the WaingMaw-Laiza road are also being attacked by the KIA. According to local residents, some residents of Laiza-Woi Chyai are fleeing to safety due to the intense clashes near Laiza. After the KIA attacked and seized some of the military camps of the SAC, airstrikes were carried out in the vicinity of Laiza at about 12:30 PM.
