Due to counteroffensive operations carried out by junta allied forces, two bases belonging to KIA-affiliated joint forces in Hopin and Mogaung, Kachin State, have been lost in recent days, according to sources.
The two bases that the KIA joint forces lost are reported to be one located on the eastern side of Hopin town and another situated on Pakhut Hill near old Mogaung town.
It is reported that clashes between the junta troops and SNA forces versus the KIA joint forces have been occurring frequently as the junta and SNA have increased their military activities in areas occupied by the resistance.
Junta-allied forces are reportedly advancing along the railway corridor in Mogaung, Hopin, and Mohnyin townships, targeting areas held by resistance groups.
In addition, junta and SNA troops are said to be intensifying forced recruitment efforts along travel routes, targeting civilian travelers for new soldier conscription.
