USDP Wins Four Constituencies In Kachin State Unopposed

The military appointed election commission has announced that in four constituencies of Kachin State where the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) fielded candidates, those candidates have won automatically as there were no other competitors.
According to the commission’s statement, there were no opposing candidates in the four constituencies of Noungmun, Mansi, Shwegu, and Shwegu Township in Kachin State. Due to the absence of competition, the USDP candidates who automatically secured victory are: U Re Dam Tang from Noungmun, U Gum San from Mansi, and U Kyaw Win from Shweku for the Pyithu Hluttaw. U Aung Naing from Shweku Township has been declared the winner for the State Parliament seat.
In addition, the military council has mandated that if only one candidate stands for election in a constituency, that candidate shall be recognized as the winning representative.The commission under the military administration also announced that the first phase of the elections will be held on December 28 across 102 townships.
