Locals report that homes along the Tanai-Lido Road and in Hpakant, abandoned by residents fleeing fighting, have been targeted by thieves stealing valuable items and household goods.

Stolen items include cars, motorcycles, and other expensive possessions, as well as household items. Because many displaced people could only take a few belongings when they fled, most of their valuables were left locked inside their homes.

However, as the displacement continues, these homes have been broken into and valuables stolen. With both sides maintaining a heavy military presence and some villages fully occupied by military council troops, residents remain afraid to return and resettle in their original homes.

In Hpakant, thefts and robberies are reportedly widespread, alongside ongoing shootings, disappearances, and intense military activity, including daily airstrikes and drone attacks.

It is also reported that over 2,000 displaced people are currently sheltering in forests, mountains, or with relatives in other villages.
