With The Coordination Led By Peace-Talk Creation Group (PCG), The SAC Allowed The Residents Trapped In Aung Myay (2) Village To Leave

According to a relief participant, the residents trapped in Aung Myay (2) village, arrived at the Maingnar KBC IDP Camp in Waingmaw Township with the coordination led by PCG, in the afternoon of March 13.

“At the request of the PCG, the authorities allowed the evacuation of Aung Myay(2) local residents. They were placed in the KBC IDP Camp in Maingnar. All the trapped civilians have been evacuated,” said an official cleric of the WBA (Waingmaw Baptist Association).

In addition, a woman from Maingnar KBC IDP camp said that, she had cooked food for the trapped locals since yesterday and waited, but they didn’t arrive, so she had to give it to other IDPs. And she cooked and prepared the food for the trapped locals and waited today again.

According to the in-charge person of the IDP camp, the list of IDPs who came to the camp is still increasing and they prepared food for more than a thousand people from Aung Myay (1), Aung Myay (2) and Shwe Nyaung Pin Villages.

Aung Myay (2) residents have been trapped in the village and detained by the SAC since March 8th, and during the period, the health conditions of the elderly and children were bad, and some elderly people died.

Officials from various congregations, Waingmaw Civil Society Organisations and PCG officials have requested the relevant authorities, and the authorities gave permission to evacuate the remaining trapped locals today, on March 13th, so that relief operations could begin from noon, said a cleric.

When Pajau Media contacted the officials from the Maingnar KBC IDP camp at 4:00 PM, they said that no one had arrived yet. The general inspection at the militia checkpoint in Aung Myay (1) is disturbing the locals, said an official of Maingnar IDP Camp. Therefore, the trapped locals started arriving at the IDP camp at 6:00 PM.
