World Kachin Congress (WKC) Begins Accepting Scholarship Applications for 2025-2026 Academic Year

The World Kachin Congress (WKC) has begun accepting scholarship applications for the 2025-2026 academic year, it has been learned.

The scholarship application process started yesterday, May 19, and will close on June 15. The list of candidates selected for interviews will be announced on June 30.

Applicants eligible to apply through WKC include those studying or seeking to study at the following institutions in KIO/KIA-controlled Mai Ja Yang: the Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences (ILAS), Mai Ja Yang College, Mai Ja Yang Institute of Education (MIED), and the Federal Law Academy - Mai Ja Yang. Additionally, those contributing to the development of Kachin nationalism are also encouraged to apply.

Selected candidates will be interviewed between July 1 and July 15, and the final list of scholarship recipients will be announced on July 30.

Scholarship application forms can be downloaded from the WKC Facebook page or the WKC website. Hard copies are also available at the Karum Zinghkri (KRZ) office in Mai Ja Yang.

WKC has been providing scholarship assistance since the 2021-2022 academic year, making this the fifth year of support for the 2025-2026 academic year.
