Youth are being arrested in broad daylight at Naura Pa, Sitapru Ward,Myitkyina,Kachin State

According to an eyewitness, at least 5 youths who came to relax at around 4:00 PM today at the national stadium called Naura Pa in Sitapru Ward of Myitkyina were arrested.

The eyewitness said, “I can only see from a distance, so I can’t tell the details. I saw armed people handcuffing the youth who were sitting in a group and taking them away. I can’t say exactly how many people were taken,” he said.

A group of armed people wearing civilian clothes and bulletproof vests arrived in a white Pajero and abducted the youth who were sitting in a group.

According to an eyewitness, it is believed that the people who came to arrest may be the SAC, and when the youth were abducted, three more people arrived on a motorcycle. By looking at that process, he said that it is possible that the Military Council troops were released and asked to observe again.

On February 10th, after the Military Council issued a law requiring all citizens to serve in the military, there have been reports that young people are often being arrested in Myitkyina Township these days.

Last February 14, a group of people in civilian clothes came and arrested three youths who were renting a house in Shwe Lan Ma, Tatkone Ward, Myitkyina.
