Youth Gang Commits Phone Robbery in Khema Thiri Ward, Myitkyina Town

A phone robbery was reported last night, September 11, in Khema Thiri Ward, Myitkyina Town, perpetrated by a gang of three youths, according to a local resident of the ward.

The three youths involved in the robbery are estimated to be around 20 years old. They had been roaming within the ward looking to commit thefts and robberies, but were noticed and monitored by residents, who were able to catch and detain them.

On September 8, in Aung Nan Ward, Myitkyina Town, an armed robbery incident occurred at Shwe San Li Gold Shop, and a similar incident of mugging happened in Kachin Su wards on September 7.

The groups involved in the rob comprised only teenagers, and they too were captured by local residents who banded together.

Robberies and thefts occur almost daily in Myitkyina Town, and local people express concerns about their safety and security.
